It was a bad day for the Gujarat Titans team they had a setback in the match with Delhi Capitals. GT captain Shubman Gill exhibits deep disappointment after the awful performance their team had in yesterday's match. It was the lowest total any team has made till now in this IPL 2024 season.
The match was held in the home ground of a Gujarat-based franchise i.e. Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad). It was a mere total of 89 runs that GT had managed to secure as a target along with this whole got out within 17.3 overs that is another low for a team to not be able to even complete the total overs. Delhi Capital chased down the target in just 8.4 overs on the loss of 4 wickets. It was a cakewalk for DC they reached their target of 90 runs with ease.
In the post-match presentation, Gill somewhat agreed with the poor shot selection of their team's batsmen and was quite disappointed by the performance. As he himself was dismissed by just scoring 8 runs it is the second instance GT had faced this kind of situation where all of the team was crumbling under stress in this season of IPL before this Gujarat Titans break down in the match against LSG too.
After experiencing defeat GT landed on the seventh position in the Tata IPL Point Table till now GT has won three matches out of seven and Delhi Capitals is now in the 6th position following the victory against Gujarat which too in their home ground. Delhi Capitals wrapped up the match in 9 overs.
Even after the defeat, Gill's mindset is optimistic for the upcoming matches as it is just halfway. Captain believes they will do best in the rest of the matches GT fans are eager and want their team to repeat the history of IPL 2022 as they were the champions of that IPL season.
