BCCI Makes Playing in Domestic Matches Mandatory Under New Guidelines

The BCCI has also said that all players cannot fly home early once the series ends.

A new policy has been introduced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) On luggage, travel, spouse as well as individual staff of the Indian players and warned them that if they weren’t able to follow any of it then there could be disciplinary action taken against them. 
"All players must strictly follow the rules mentioned. Any exceptions need approval from the Chairman of the Selection Committee and the Head Coach. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action by the BCCI," says a document shared with the media.
Additionally, the Document also says that “BCCI has all the right to treat any player with the disciplinary action that mainly includes (i) A ban on the player from taking part in any BCCI-organized tournaments, including the Indian Premier League. (ii) A reduction in the retainer or match fees as per the BCCI Player contract. This action promotes responsibility and emphasizes the importance of following rules and prioritizing Indian cricket.
As per the new regulation BCCI That it is mandatory to participate in domestic fixtures. This policy is introduced to make sure that players must be connected with the domestic cricket ecosystem, Encouraging talent growth, ensuring match fitness, and enhancing the domestic cricket framework.
There are few rules been introduced for the players for the team travelling. As in previous tour to Australia, it was noticed that some players weren’t travelling with the team. As those players were travelling with their families and booked their special flights. In one instance, Virat Kohli was involved in an altercation with a local reporter at Melbourne airport. The new BCCI policy aims to prevent such incidents.
Players must travel with the team for matches and practice sessions. Individual travel plans with families are discouraged to ensure discipline and team unity. Any exceptions require prior approval from the Head Coach and the Chairman of the Selection Committee," the document states.
A strong action has been taken of players carrying personal staff on tours. As that has been noticed that players carries their personal makeup artist, hairdresser, cook and nannies by which it has find out that the number of staff has reached up to 12 on some occasions. Because of which BCCI has put restrictions on it. Personal staff such as Cheds, assistant and security is restricted on tours or series is explicitly banned.  
The BCCI has also states that players will not be allowed to go early after the series ends, like it happens in Syndey when the test ended on third day. And some of senior found out to fly home three days before the official departure from the Australia. Players must remain with the team until the scheduled conclusion of the match series or tour, even if matches finish earlier than expected. This rule promotes unity, strengthens team bonding, and prevents disruption to team dynamics," the policy document states.  
The BCCI emphasized that the policy aims to uphold "the highest standards of professionalism and discipline within Team India. By promoting unity and ensuring smooth operations, we can create an environment where players can excel and perform at their best."
Policy Document for Team India (Senior Men)
1. Domestic matches participation is necessary for the players to be eligible for the selection of national team and for central contracts according to the BCCI guidelines. Exceptions to this rule will only be granted in extraordinary circumstances and must be formally notified and approved by the Chairman of the Selection Committee to ensure fairness and transparency.
2. All players are required to travel with the team for matches and practice sessions. Traveling separately with families is discouraged to uphold discipline and team unity. Any exceptions must be pre-approved by the Head Coach and the Chairman of the Selection Committee.
3. Players must comply with the baggage limits set for the team. Any costs for exceeding these limits will be the responsibility of the individual player. This policy ensures efficient logistics and minimizes unnecessary expenses.
4. The restriction on bringing personal staff (such as personal managers, chefs, assistants, and security) on tours or series will be elevated, unless explicitly approved by the BCCI. 
5. Players must coordinate with the team management for sending their equipment and personal items to the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Any extra costs from separate arrangements will be the responsibility of the player.
6. All players must attend the full duration of scheduled practice sessions and travel together to and from the venue. This rule promotes commitment and helps build a strong work ethic within the team.
7. Players are not allowed to participate in personal shoots or endorsements during an active series or tour. This policy helps prevent distractions and ensures that players remain focused on cricket and their team duties.
8. Players must be available for BCCI's official shoots, promotional activities, and events. These engagements are important for fulfilling the BCCI's commitments to stakeholders and promoting the game effectively.
9. Players must remain with the team until the scheduled end of the match series or tour, even if matches finish earlier than expected. This rule promotes unity, strengthens team bonding, and prevents disruption to team dynamics.
