Bowlers Shine as Silverton Tigers Defeat Vasundhra Super Kings by 11 Runs in Evening MPL Thriller
MPL-T20 2025: Silvertons Tigers beat Vasundhra Super Kings by 11 runs. Player of the Match: Praveen Kumar
The evening clash in the MPL saw Silverton Tigers secure a hard-fought 11-run victory over Vasundhra Super Kings in a low-scoring yet clenching match. Silverton Tigers won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a target of 141 runs. Despite a vital chase from Vasundhra Super Kings, they were bowled out for 129 in 19.1 overs, falling just short. Strong bowling performances from Shantanu and Amar Singh couldn’t prevent the Tigers to securing their best win of the game.
Silverton Tigers Innings:
Silverton Tigers got a solid start with Aditya Sharma leading the charge. As he has been able to secure 48 runs off 33 balls, in which he hit 7 boundaries and a six, giving the Tigers a good early platform. He was well-supported by Prashant Surya, who scored 47 off 41 balls, playing a smart and steady knock in the middle overs.
While the top order provided momentum, the middle and lower orders went under pressure. Gaurav Tomar added 15 balls out of 10 balls, but quick wickets—including ducks from Harshit Rathi, Yash Garg, and Ashwani Panwar—slowed the innings a little.
Amar Singh and Shantanu bowled with discipline, taking 4 wickets between them and restricting the flow of runs.
Despite the collapse, small late contributions from Nagendra Chaudhary (10*) and Anuj Panwar (7) helped the Tigers reach a total of 140 runs in 20 overs, with a run rate of 7.0.
Vasundhra Super Kings Innings:
The chase began with an early blow as Vineet Kumar was dismissed for a golden duck. Shantanu (15 off 10) tried to counterattack but couldn’t convert his start. Vaibhav Tyagi (19) and Ayush Rathi (29 off 26) looked steady for a while, but the regular loss of wickets kept the pressure on.
Vishvendar Chaudhary played a fighting knock of 28 off 30, but lacked support from the lower order. Praveen Kumar was the key bowler for Silverton Tigers, picking up 4 wickets. Yash Garg also chipped in with 3 wickets at crucial moments.
A late cameo by Manik Kashyap (15 off just 5 balls) raised hopes for Vasundhra, but with wickets tumbling, the team was bowled out for 129 in 19.1 overs, handing the Tigers a 11-run win.
