Bumrah’s Brilliance and Jadeja’s 300th Wicket Dismantle Bangladesh for 233, Leaving Mominul Unbeaten on 107

India allrounder is one of 11 players with the double of scoring 3000 runs and taking 300 wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj quickly took out the remaining batsmen after lunch, and Bangladesh were all out for 233, just 45 minutes into the fourth day. The last four wickets fell for only 28 runs, and Ravindra Jadeja got his 300th Test wicket. Mominul Haque was left not out on 107. Bumrah ended with three wickets, and all the Indian bowlers got at least one wicket.
In seven balls Mehidy Hasan Miraz hit three fours against Bumrah in the space of seven balls- Two of those happened because the bowler gave the batsman enough space to hit the ball. But Bumrah got his own back when he bowled a delivery that angled in and then moved away. Mehidy had to try to hit the ball and ended up edging it to slip. In the following over, Bumrah bowled too fast for Taijul Islam, while Siraj did the same to Hasan Mahmud, getting him out leg before wicket.
When Jadeja got the last batter out to reach his bowling milestone, Bangladesh had lost 7 wickets for 126 runs, giving up any advantage they might have had.
In the morning session, it was a battle between Mominul and the disciplined Indian bowlers. Play resumed after two days lost to rain, and India took three wickets in the extended morning session.
\\With the sun shining after days of cloudy weather, the pitch had better bounce, but some balls still stayed low due to the black-soil surface. Akash Deep and Bumrah started the day by bowling around a good length, testing Mominul and Mushfiqur Rahim’s patience. Four of the first five overs were maidens, with only one run coming from Mushfiqur’s inside edge.
Bumrah then bowled an in-swinger that bounced more and took Mushfiqur’s inside edge again, but this time it missed the stumps and went for the first four of the day. The ball landed on a good length outside off stump and moved 2cm into the batter. On the next ball, Bumrah bowled in the same spot, but this time it moved sharply - 6cm - and clipped the off stump as Mushfiqur left it, ending his innings.
Litton Das came in before Shakib Al Hasan to keep a left-right batting combination. Rohit Sharma set attacking fields with three slips and two gullies for most of the first session. This also gave the batters gaps to hit fours, which Litton did three times in a Bumrah over, and Mominul did once each against Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj. Mominul promoted to No. 3, reached a steady half-century.
Litton’s aggressive approach led to his dismissal when he charged at a length ball from Siraj and hit it in the air towards wide mid-off. Rohit timed his jump perfectly to take a one-handed catch. Shakib’s innings lasted only 17 balls as he tried to use his feet against R Ashwin but ended up getting caught by Siraj, who made a great one-handed catch while falling backwards.
Jadeja came on to bowl in the 12th over but couldn’t settle in. Mominul kept sweeping him and used his feet well to hit a six, bringing him into the nineties. Mominul had some luck, first when Rishabh Pant missed an under-edge catch when he was on 93, and then when Virat Kohli dropped him at 95 after diving to his left.
Mominul reached his 13th Test century with a sweep shot, his first since June 2023 and only his second outside home. He scored most of Bangladesh’s runs but was left stranded in the end.

End of Days Play
Day 1 : Bangladesh 1st innings 107/3 (Mominul Haque 40*, Mushfiqur Rahim 6*)
Day 2 : no play
Day 3 : no play
Day 4 : Bangladesh 1st innings 233/10 (Mominul Haque 106*, Jasprit Bumrah 3/50)
