Buttler leads England to a 2-0 Advantage

Jos Buttler powers England to 2-0 series lead after bowlers restrict West Indies at 158

Jos Buttler’s excellent batting skills helped England to chase their second T20I and helped them achieve a 2-0 over West Indies as it was a great seven-wicket win at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. England's bowlers did a great job, limiting West Indies to 158 runs for 8 wickets. Buttler scored an impressive 83 runs off 45 balls, hitting 8 fours and 6 sixes, which helped his team reach the target in just 14.5 overs.
England faced an early setback in their chase when Phil Salt, who had just scored a century in the previous match, was dismissed for a first-ball duck. However, Jos Buttler and Will Jacks quickly made things better around during the powerplay, smashing several boundaries and a couple of sixes. The sixth over proved especially productive as Jacks hit a four, while Buttler added two more fours and a six off Romario Shepherd, racking up 21 runs in that single over.
Even after the powerplay ended, the West Indies struggled to stem the flow of runs. Buttler kept the pressure on, continuing to clear the boundary and reaching his fifty in just 32 balls with a six off Roston Chase. By the 10-over mark, England had amassed 94 runs for the loss of just one wicket. At the end of the eighth over, both Buttler and Jacks were in the 30s, but over the next few overs, Buttler raced into the 80s.
The West Indies got a key breakthrough when Shepherd took out both Jacks, who scored 38, and Buttler in the same over, breaking their strong partnership of 129 runs. However, their brief hope was short-lived as Liam Livingstone came in to finish things off, scoring a quick 23 runs off 11 balls, which included three fours and a six, clinching the win for England in the 15th over.
After being put to bat, the West Indies lost early wickets even though England's bowling was not very accurate. In the first two overs, there were nine wides, with Saqib Mahmood causing eight of them. However, Mahmood also got Brandon King out, who hit a bad shot and scored only 1 run. Evin Lewis was next, getting out after gloving a high ball from Jofra Archer to the wicketkeeper. Roston Chase tried to fight back by hitting three fours, two of which came off Mahmood, but he also got out to Mahmood as West Indies ended the powerplay at 44/3.
England improved their bowling between the 7th and 10th overs, making it difficult for the West Indies to hit boundaries. This pressure caused Nicholas Pooran to attempt a big shot, but he ended up getting stumped by Liam Livingstone. Kieran Powell managed to hit a big six off Livingstone, but the bowler got back at him by trapping Sherfane Rutherford lbw with the help of the technology review system. Powell scored a six and a four off Adil Rashid in the next over, but despite his efforts, the West Indies only managed to get to 100 runs after 15 overs.
Powell's steady innings of 43 runs off 41 balls came to a close when Dan Mousley bowled a perfect yorker that hit the stumps. Gudakesh Motie and Romario Shepherd managed to hit a few boundaries, but Motie got out to Rashid, leaving the West Indies struggling at 126/7 after 18 overs. In the last two overs, things improved slightly as Sam Curran gave away 17 runs and Mousley conceded 15, with Shepherd and Matthew Forde contributing some runs. However, their total still fell short against a strong performance from Jos Buttler, who helped England take a solid lead in the series.

Scorecard : West Indies 158/8 in 20 overs (Rovman Powell 43, Romario Shepherd 22; Saqib Mahmood 2-20, Liam Livingstone 2-16) lost to England 161/3 in 14.5 overs (Jos Buttler 83, Will Jacks 38; Romario Shepherd 2-42) by 7 wickets.
