Champions Trophy 2025 : India vs Bangladesh

India's Predicted Playing XI for Champions Trophy 2025 Match Against Bangladesh: Star Player Absent, Jadeja Included

India will play against Bangladesh in the Second match of the Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Indian team captained by Rohit Sharma is going to kickstart the Champions trophy match in Dubai against Bangladesh. As of a few months, Rohit Sharma hasn’t been able to play well which is why he is quite pressurised for his further performance. There has been a lot of debate regarding the team selection as India opted for the five spinners in which the excellent player Yashswai Jaiswal was out. Because of this, some questions were also asked about Shubman Gill as Rohit's Deputy in the competition.
For the opening Rohit and Gill are expected to play the innings from India against Bangladesh and Virat Kohli has put on No.3 spot. This time Rohit and Virat are under a lot of pressure because of their recent dull performances and the eyes are on the superstars whether they might be able to regain their performance or not.
Shreyas Iyer who has been playing great in domestic cricket decided to bat on No.4 whereas KL Rahul Chosen over Rishabh Pant for the wicket-keeper position.
India’s selection of two-star players for the wicket-keeper position has sparked extensive discussions. However, KL Rahul is expected to be chosen over Rishabh Pant, as Rahul provides a more solid batting option for the match against Bangladesh.
Regarding the all-rounders, India is likely to field Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja. These three renowned players are anticipated to form a star-studded lower middle order for the team.
In the bowling department, Kuldeep Yadav is expected to be the third spinner, while Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh will serve as the specialist pace bowlers.
Bangladesh might handle spin bowling better than England did because their batters have been doing well in the high-scoring BPL. This shows that pitches at home might now be more balanced, helping bowlers to develop in various styles, not just spin. However, Bangladesh last played an ODI in December 2024 and lost 3-0 to West Indies, who didn’t qualify for this Champions Trophy. When they last played India, they gave up a lot of runs quickly in both a Test match and a T20I.
India Squad: Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma (c), Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Virat Kohli, Arshdeep Singh.
Bangladesh Squad: Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Mustafizur Rahman
