Colin Munro Extends Brisbane Heat Deal to 2026!
A left-handed cricketer from New Zealand, Colin Munro is all set to ply his trade with Brisbane Heat Big Bash League till 2026.
A left-handed cricketer from New Zealand, Colin Munro is all set to ply his trade with Brisbane Heat Big Bash League till 2026. He recently retired from playing cricket for his country early this year in May He has, however, been sharp in T20 cricket leagues conducted globally.
For the past two years, Munro could not be present or participate in all the Brisbane Heat’s games because he had a fixed engagement with another team named the Desert Vipers in another league. However, with the new multiple-year deal signed with Brisbane Heat, Munro will be free for all the matches including the finals if Brisbane Heat makes it there.
Munro has performed exceptionally in T20 cricket with more than 10,000 run tally alongside a healthy strike rate of 141. 25 in 428 matches. Being a batsman he is particularly impressive when it comes to fixing a match and setting himself up in T20 international cricket he made important records like being the first one to score three hundreds in the series. In T20 international cricket, he has achieved something that will remain a record for him for quite some time: he broke the world record of second fastest player to hit 100 sixes. While BBL season seven was ongoing in the period 2018-19, the Brisbane Heat became the champions of the Big Bash League in the season 2023-24. The team as a whole is very pleased and anxiously anticipating Munro's return to the team and the added success that he may bring in the future. They hope to secure another championship in the next season with him on their side. Munro revealed delight towards getting back to the team and asserted that he was eager to play on his home turf, Gabba, where his family and friends usually attend. During his tenure with the team, he agreed with the notion that this team can regain its form and climb to new heights which is why he wants to help more during the summer.
