David Reid is appointed as PCB's mental performance coach

David Reid will be the new mental performance coach for the Pakistan cricket men's team.

In lieu of the upcoming T20 World Cup series, the Pakistan Cricket Board is further making an addiction to the newly formed management. David Reid has been appointed as the new mental performance coach by the PCB. Furthermore, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also made the new initiative to add a performance coach. The Board has clicked on Simon Helmot as the new fielding coach for the team. Besides, the role of white ball coach of the team will be managed by Gary Kirsten and expected to join the squad on May 19 in England.

David Reid, currently working with Chennai Super Kings (since 2021) as the mental and kill Conditioning coach. Additionally, Reid also takes Care of the Melbourne stars who play in Big Bash League. He will be part of Pakistan’s squad for the T20I series in England and the T20 World Cup in the Americas in June.

“The PCB, at the suggestion of team management, has enlisted Simon Helmot [fielding coach] and David Reid [mental performance coach] to the player support team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024,” the PCB said in an official statement.

"Reid will team up with the group on May 20, and Helmot will be part of the team on May 31. Meanwhile, Aftab Khan, who is acting as the fielding coach, will take over the responsibilities of the high-performance coach once the arrival of Helmot,” the PCB statement said further.

After the IPL 2024 season, Gary Kirsten will fly to Leeds

Pakistan Cricket Board chose former Australian pacer Jason Gillespie as its head coach for the red ball cricket coach for the Men's team. In the meanwhile, Kirsten as well as Gillespie are not with the team members. While Kirsten is leading the Gujarat Titans in the current season of Indian Premier League 2024, Gillespie becomes available for the Pakistan home test series against Bangladesh which will be his first assignment.
