Dinesh Karthik Defends Virat Kohli Amidst Challenging Sri Lankan Pitches: Nothing to Worry About

Dinesh Karthik backs Virat Kohli's defense technique after failure in Sri Lanka ODI Series.

Dinest Karthik the former Indian Wicketkeeper shared his views on Virat Kohli’s performance in the recent Sri Lanka Vs India ODI series where India lost 2-0. Karthik in his statements said that there is no problem with Kohli’s batting instead he believes that the conditions were challenging and faced by every Indian batsman.
The Indian batsmen struggled at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, where the Sri Lankan spinners took full advantage of the favorable conditions. Out of the 30 Indian wickets in the three-match series, an impressive 27 were taken by Sri Lankan spinners, showcasing their dominance on the spin-friendly pitches. He added.
The series that India lost is the first time in the last 27 years that India has been defeated by Sri Lanka in any ODI series. I can say that the pitch was tough for all whether it is Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, or anyone else. With the semi-new ball between overs 8 and 30, batting has been quite challenging: He said.
With the semi-new ball between overs 8 and 30, batting has been quite challenging. "It's nothing to worry about. Not many pitches behave like this, but it has been tough to play spinners here. I'm not defending Virat Kohli, but I can say that playing spin was very difficult."
The most important thing is that India Played all-rounders and stands bravely to attack. So, that's something he likes. Secondly, Riyan Parag, in his limited opportunities, is showing his potential with the ball, which is another positive for us."
Karthik discussed why Indian batters struggle when facing spin on slow pitches. "When you first end up playing international cricket, you end up playing a lot more quality fast bowling. But the truth is, when every team ends up playing three fast bowlers, and at times, four of them with just one spinner or sometimes two, we play on slow turning pitches, which doesn't happen too often.
So, when you transition from domestic to international cricket, you focus more on facing fast bowlers. As a result, it's understandable that players might lose some of their ability to play spin bowling over time.
