Sanju Samson is first choice among the selectors for the upcoming T20 tournament.
Rajasthan Royals captain and skipper Sanju Samson is getting the first-choice wicketkeeper-batter among the selection committee for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup from June 1st, which will be held in West Indies and USA.
Apart from Samson, a few more top-performing skippers are under notice for the tournament. Rishabh Pant made a great return in combative cricket after the meeting with an accident in 2022. KL Rahul from Lucknow Super Giants and Ishan Kishan from Mumbai Indians are yet another two skippers being competitive for the Samson for the upcoming tournament.
Samson is a tough Competitive
Sanju Samson is giving a tough competition to other skippers on the list. Currently, He is sitting on the fourth number with the maximum number of runs on the chart, 385 runs with an average of 77.00 and a strike rate of 161.08. In Total, Samson has screwed four half-centuries with a best score of 82(non-out).
Coming to KL Rahul, he is standing fifth on the runs chart with 378 runs at an average of 42.00 and a strike rate of 144 (which is a little low compared to other competent). He has also screwed four half centuries. While Rishabh Pant's performance, he is next to Rahul i.e., sixth on the runs chart in the IPL 2024. He screwed 371 runs in 10 matches with an average of 46.87 and a strike rate of 160.60. He scored three fifties and a best score of 88(non-out).
Ishan Kishan currently doesn’t have a central contract of BCCI. Rest, his performance is giving remarkable figures. He has scored 212 runs just in nine matches with a strike rate of 165.62 and an average of 23.55.
Of the top four, the first three were almost set before the IPL, and the team captain Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal set to open, and skipper Virat Kohli and number 1-ranked T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav were at numbers three and four, respectively.

Fast bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan/Mohammed Siraj
Other contenders: KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Sandeep Sharma (as per ANI report).
