For me the current match is no less significant than any other, no matter if this is going to be my last match. To my mind, it is interesting to do this job. I have appreciated coaching in India, and I think it is a very noble work to have as a profession. Well, I have fond myself working with this team with the understanding that this is a great bunch of boys to be associated with.”
“Rather, just the sort of schedules [that are in place in international cricket] and where I find myself at this stage in my life, I do not believe I will be able to apply again,” he said, however, added it was not a big issue for him. To be honest, I do not see this as anything special or unusual at all The moment that I took this job, I have always had the feeling that each match counts”
Dravid Got Aesthetic Playing Career
Rahul Dravid played the last World Cup of his career in 2003; although his playing career was aesthetic and was part of the No.1 test cricket team. However, he didn’t get the title of World’s No 1 Champion.
Despite, being the Head Coach for the Team, he got the chance to come closer to the title quite three times in a journey, in all three formats. Dravid has this last chance now to be part of the world champion side. Meanwhile, Dravid is planning to step back and look into the larger picture for the next action.
Remarkably honestly, said Dravid, ‘I believe we have played quite well in these World Cup tournaments.’ In terms of our level of commitment, we have been very consistent.” Reaching the level of semi-final in the first one, in the T20 one in Australia [in 2022]. The WTC is a bit different in terms that it’s not one tournament but a cycle but again playing well in the cycle to reach the final there in 2023. The 50-over World Cup was quite successful for the team, and we made it to the finals [in 2023]. For us, for the sort of level that we have set ourselves, or in terms of the nature of the cricket that we have produced in these big tournaments, we have been as good as any of the best teams.
He added further more” Hopefully we play good cricket to get ourselves in those positions again, which is a big thing, then play good cricket on the day to get over the top of it. But the key thing for this stage of any of these tournaments is not to think of that it is actually to try and get into those positions again I think that can be as hard as actually winning these games at times.’
