The board meeting has been called by ICC on November 29. They are gonna decide where and how the champions trophy gonna be played in 2025. As India is not ready to travel to Pakistan nor does Pakistan wish to back down in between,t it's important to get a hybrid model so, that India will be allowed to play games in another country in this the board of committee will be asking the member to provide a solution. This meeting is gonna be a virtual meeting and whenever the ICC Board arrives at a consensus they will take a final decision afterwards.
The time frame for the eight-team ODI tournament is set to be between February 19 and March, but the ICC has not officially announced the specific dates or schedule yet. In the past, for global tournaments, the ICC usually shares the schedule 100 days before the event starts.
For all the delay the main reason is that Rohit Sharma’s team is not allowed to travel to Pakistan for the match. And the decision was informed to ICC two weeks ago. The PCB, which got the rights to host the Champions Trophy in 2021, later sent a letter to the ICC asking why the BCCI gave certain reasons and when they informed the ICC. A PCB official mentioned that they haven't received any reply from the ICC so far.
PCB Chairmen Mohsin Naqvi still remains on his word to host the entire tournament in Pakistan mainly at three venues those are Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore. Last week, he mentioned that he was willing to talk with the BCCI to resolve the situation. An ICC representative confirmed that a meeting took place on Friday, but the PCB has not said anything yet.
The ICC board are total of 12 members from countries are present, of which three representatives are associates, an ICC Chairmen, a CEO along an independent director. The meeting is ending in between the tenure of the present ICC Chairmen who is Greg Barcley. This would be his last meeting as he is going to be replaced by Jay Shah the BCCI secretary on December 1st Sunday.
PCB Chairmen Naqvi is also an important figure in Pakistan as he holds the position of interior minister. Recently, he has been busy in Islamabad trying to control political protests by PTI, the party led by former prime minister and cricket captain Imran Khan.
