ICC T20 World Cup 2024: India’s fast bowlers outshine Ireland on a tricky Newyork pitch

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: India’s fast bowlers outshine Ireland on a tricky Newyork pitch

India started their journey with the victory. India beats Ireland easily in their first ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 match.

India beats Ireland at very ease in their first match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. India’s fast bowlers took nine wickets, limiting Ireland to just 96 runs. Then, captain Rohit Sharma scored fifty runs, helping India win the game smoothly.
The cricket field in New York wasn’t easy for scoring runs. Just like in the previous game where Sri Lanka struggled, tonight Ireland also found it tough. The players had to focus more on defending than on scoring points. India chose to have more fast bowlers, and it worked well because all of them did a great job together.
Ireland:
Initial Overs – 26/2 (4x4s)
Ireland had to bat first against India's strong bowling team on a tricky pitch in New York. The ball was moving a lot, and Indian bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj bowled very well, using the same techniques they use in Test matches. This made it hard for Ireland's top players to even hit the ball properly, let alone score big runs. Because it was so hard to survive, Ireland's players took more risks. Paul Stirling got out trying to hit a short ball from Arshdeep, and Andrew Balbirnie missed a good-length ball and got bowled. The pitch stayed difficult, and the tough situation for Ireland's batsmen continued throughout the early part of the game.

 Middle Overs – 70/8 (4x4s,3x6s)
Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah took advantage of the tricky pitch. Pandya made the ball move and got Lorcan Tucker out, while Bumrah used a bouncer to dismiss Harry Tector. Curtis Campher was caught behind Pandya, and Siraj also took a wicket. Ireland kept losing wickets regularly until the 13th over. Even Axar Patel got a wicket with a catch and bowled. Gareth Delany scored some runs, but Ireland only managed 96 before getting run out.
India:
Initial Overs – 39/1 (4x4s, 1x6)
The pitch was still tough for India when they started batting. Virat Kohli got out quickly while trying to hit a big shot. Rohit Sharma, the captain, had some trouble facing Mark Adair’s bowling, but he still managed to hit some good shots for boundaries. He hit most of the boundaries for India in the beginning, which helped their chase.

Middle Overs – 58/1 (3x4s, 4x6s)
Rohit Sharma scored fifty runs with some great shots, especially two pull shots. He was supported by Rishabh Pant, who scored thirty – six runs without getting out. Both Players had a hard time because the ball bounced strangely on the field. Pant got hit on his hand but kept playing, while Rohit had to stop because he got hit on his neck. Even though with these difficulties, India won the game easily.

Aggregate Scores: Ireland made 96 runs and lost all their wickets. Hardik Pandya took three wickets for India. India then scored 97 runs while losing only two wickets. Rohit Sharma scored 52 runs, and Rishabh Pant scored 36 runs. India won the match by 8 wickets.
