ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Saad Bin Zafar leads Canada's T20 World Cup squad for 2024

Saad Bin Zafar leads Canada's T20 World Cup squad for 2024

Canada is also in a row who declared their team for the upcoming T20I  World Cup 2024. Canada Cricket Board has unveiled their official 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup 2024 with five reserves. Saad Bin Zafar will be leading the squad in the tournament. Zafar is an experienced allrounder who would bring a wealth of guidance to the team.

This time, Canada focused on providing a blend of experienced scorers and promising young players to the squad. Harsh Thaker, Nicholas Kirton and Dilpreet Bajwa are the young promiser in the team, which would help the team more in finding new energies and skills. However, four young energies are kept in the team.

Saad Bin Zafar will Lead the Team

Harsh Thaker and Nicholas Kirton are already part of the Canada Cricket team squad. Zafar is a left-arm orthodox spinner which would add support to the bowling department. While Aaron Johnson’s quite known for his aggressive batting module, will boost the top batting order.

Seamer Kaleem Sana has been added to the team to provide additional assistance to the bowling department in the upcoming T20I World Cup. Nikhil Dutta and Srimantha Wijeyeratne are both unable to make it to the team for the upcoming tournament. Despite Tajinder Singh being included in the reserve player category for the squad.

Reserves: Tajinder Singh, Aaditya Varadharajan, Ammar Khalid, Jatinder Matharu, and Parveen Kumar.

Canada T20 World Cup Group Details

While the Canada team is placed in Group A for the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup 2024. India, Pakistan, USA and Ireland are placed in the same group. Canada is set to play their first match of the tournament against the USA on June 1^st.
