IND vs ZIM : Gill, Gaikwad, and Sundar Secured India’s Victory

Washington Sundar was named the best player for taking three wickets and giving away only Fifteen runs, assisting India to defend their total of 182 runs.

India leads the Five-Match Series 2-1 after a 23-run victory over Zimbabwe in the third T20I match in Harare. Washington Sundar was named the best player for taking three wickets and giving away only Fifteen runs, assisting India to defend their total of 182 runs.
What made the teams Dissimilar?
During the game, Sikandar Raza stated that they lost the match by giving “20 extra runs” because of slip-ups in fielding. As could be seen if those blunders were not committed the difference between the teams was considerably reduced. Some blatant drops include the team missing the ball at least thrice. Some examples of such players are Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who got an opportunity to have a second corn because of this rule. In overall, their ground fielding also seems to be quite average with nothing outstanding about them. Thus, India performed well. The adults were especially particular about picking the ball and they were powerful in the outfield.
India:
Initial Overs - 55/0 (8x4s, 3x6s)
Zimbabwe began with a spinner bowling against Yashasvi Jaiswal who just returned to play. That did not go well as planned because Jaiswal managed to score 15 runs in the first over. Jaiswal followed up with some aggressive batting, scoring 14 runs in next over bowled by Richard Ngarava with Shubman Gill playing out the over as well. As soon as Tendai Chatara had begun bowling, Jaiswal scored a four runs boundary as well as a six runs boundary put India at 41/0 after 3 overs. However, Blessing Muzarabani bowled out India in the next two overs, and the team could muster 14 runs in the last three overs of the PowerPlay. Although, I believe that Zimbabwe did not field well allowing India to get more than their average score.
Middle Overs - 72/2 (7x4s, 2x6s)
Captain Raza from Zimbabwe made a big impact by getting the first wicket, breaking India’s 67-run opening collaboration. Jaiswal, who got a lucky break earlier, tried a tricky shot and got caught. Abhishek Sharma, batting in a new role, struggled a bit and was caught near the boundary off Raza’s bowling. Ruturaj Gaikwad came next to bat, but India slowed down, only scoring 48 runs from overs ranging from 4 to 12. Just when Zimbabwe seemed to be winning, Wessley Madhevere gave away 19 runs in the 13th over. Gaikwad and Gill hit big sixes off his bowling.
Death Overs - 55/2 (4x4s, 3x6s)
Zimbabwe began their bowling with caution. India followed, managing to score 18 runs in Raza's last over. Gill achieved a fifty but was dismissed shortly after that. Gaikwad quickly accumulated 49 runs. India concluded with 182/4 runs, which Yashasvi considered a respectable performance on a challenging surface.
Zimbabwe:
Initial overs - 37/3 (7x4s, 0x6s)
Zimbabwe had a tough time with some good shots but also losing wickets quickly. Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan played well, getting early wickets. Marumani and Bennett fell fast too, hurting Zimbabwe's chances. Raza scored some runs later on, but it wasn't enough after the early setbacks.
Middle overs - 73/3 (7x4s, 2x6s)
India got off to a good start with Washington Sundar picking up crucial wickets in the starting. Zimbabwe was in a poor position at 49/5 after the first nine overs of play. Dion Myers then joined Clive Madande and the two added 77 runs for the fifth wicket, Myers being on 65*. They especially targeted Abhishek Sharma and Shivam Dube, both of whom went for 50 runs in their 4 overs. Madande also dispatched Dube for two sixes in an over and brought Zimbabwe close to victory with 73 runs to be scored from the last five overs.
Death overs - 49/1 (3x4s, 2x6s)
India’s best bowlers then put the match back in their favor. Khaleel got to bowl one over and conceded only 2 runs. Sundar then clean-bowled Madande in the next over with Rinku Singh. In the second over, Bishnoi also gave up 16 runs. In the last over of the match, Avesh bowled and allowed 18 runs to be scored. But India had already won the game with some splendid bowling in the initial stages.
Score Summary -
India scored 182 runs with Gill making 66 and Gaikwad 49. Zimbabwe scored 159 runs with Myers making 65 not out. India won the match by 23 runs.
