India hits a new low with a total score of just 46 runs
Five India batters got out for ducks as New Zealand's long wait for some cricket in India finally ended.
India is playing a test match with New Zealand in which they have scored the lowest score in a home test match. Before that the lowest runs at home and 75 all out in 1987 in Delhi.
Not only that it is also the third lowest of all in tests, before that they scored 36 against Australia at Adelaide Oval in 2020 and in 1974, 42 that was against England at Lord’s.
1: In all over the Asia India 46 all out is the lowest one. Before that, the lowest in Asia was 53 all out by the team of West Indies that was against Pakistan played in Faisalabad in 1986 and next was Australia against Pakistan in 2002 at Sharjah.
Also, this was the lowest of any team scored against New Zealand, before that it was 51 and all out by Zimbabwe in Napier in 2012.
3: Several first-innings scores have been lower than India's 46 after choosing to bat first in men's Test matches.
5: In Bengaluru, five Indian batters from the top eight were dismissed for a duck (zero runs). This is only the second time in Test history that five of the top-eight batters have been out for ducks in an innings. The first instance happened in 1888 when Australia faced England in Manchester.
15: India scored just 15 runs for the loss of their last seven wickets, collapsing from 31 for 3 to 46 all out. Only once have they scored fewer runs for their last seven wickets in a Test innings—11 runs against Australia in Pune in 2017.
26: Matt Henry reached 100 Test wickets in 26 matches, tying for the second-fastest among New Zealand players. Richard Hadlee achieved this in 25 matches, while Neil Wagner also needed 26.
2015: The last time visiting fast bowlers took all ten wickets in a Test innings against India was in 2012, also by New Zealand in Bengaluru. Of the seven times this has happened since 1988, five were in New Zealand.
15 - Runs scored by India for the loss of their last seven wickets - 31 for 3 to 46 all out. Only once have India added fewer runs in a Test innings for their last seven wickets - 11 against Australia in Pune in 2017.
26 - Matches needed for Matt Henry to complete 100 wickets in Test cricket, the joint-second fastest to the milestone among New Zealand players. Richard Hadlee took 25 matches for his 100th Test wicket, while Neil Wagner also needed 26.
2012 - The last instance of visiting pacers bagging all ten wickets in a Test innings against India - also by New Zealand in Bengaluru. Five of the seven occasions where the visiting pacers took all ten in an innings against India since 1988 have been by New Zealand.
