India women defeated the Bangladesh Women Ninth edition of the Women's Asia Cup Semifinal by 10 Wickets.
India women defeated the Bangladesh Women Ninth edition of the Women's Asia Cup by 10 Wickets. Bangladesh won the toss and they chose the batting first. Renuka Thakur Singh started the bowling and removed three Bangladeshi women batters without much effort. The champion of 2018 struggled to find momentum with the bat, not the boundaries that weren’t able to find but the struggle was for the rotate strikes as well. There were only two names for the double digits runs which are Nigar Sultana and Shorna Akter. India restricted Bangladesh to a score of 80/8 after Radha Yadav's impressive double-wicket maiden capped off the innings.
Smriti Mandhana hit a lot of boundaries and India scored over half of the target in just 5 overs. Jahanara caught Mandhana at backward point on 35, but the pacer had overstepped, so it didn't count. Shefali Verma wasn’t giving her best today, as she dropped at her following over. The match finished off in style with a left-hander. She scored a hat-trick of boundaries on her way to reaching fifty, helping India secure victory with 9 overs to spare.
Bangladesh:
Initial Over (1 to 6)
Renuka Singh bowled well, taking 3 important wickets by bowling accurately. Tanuja Kanwar also did a great job by taking 2 wickets with her effective bowling. Vastrakar had some ups and downs but managed to get a key wicket. The highlight was Dilara Akter hitting a six before getting out. Overall, the bowlers did a great job by restricting the batters and creating chances to get them out. And the score after completing 6 overs was BANW 25-3.
Middle Over (7 to 15)
In the match, Deepti Sharma played a key role, by getting Ritu Moni stumped with a clever delivery that caught her out of her crease. Sharma also helped her team reach fifty runs with a well-timed shot. Tanuja Kanwar and Radha Yadav also performed well, with Kanwar adding some crucial runs and Yadav dismissing Rumana Ahmed with a tricky delivery. Vastrakar took the wicket of Rabeya Khan with a short ball that was hard to handle. Overall, Bangladesh struggled against India's strong bowling attack, with Nigar Sultana and Ritu Moni being the main contributors to their score, despite the consistent pressure from the Indian bowlers. And at the end of that over Bangladesh was scored 49-6.
Death Over (16 to 20)
In the final overs, Radha Yadav capped off her impressive spell with a double-wicket maiden, and that’s how Nahida Akter and Nigar Sultana get dismissed. Yadav's last over featured a full delivery that knocked Nahida's stumps and a catch by Deepti Sharma off Nigar's mistimed shot. Before this, Vastrakar contributed with a no-ball and a wicket, removing Rabeya Khan with a well-placed short ball. Shorna Akter hit a couple of boundaries, including a powerful pull shot, and took singles to keep the scoreboard ticking. Deepti Sharma also made useful contributions with both bat and ball, including driving and flicking deliveries for singles and boundaries. Overall, the innings ended with Radha Yadav's strong finish and a mix of boundary-scoring shots from Shorna Akter. And that’s how Bangladesh set a score of 80-8 for Indian women.

Initial Over
In the early overs of the innings, Marufa Akter and Jahanara Alam bowled with varying success. Marufa Akter began with a full delivery to Mandhana, who responded with a stylish drive to mid-off and a boundary through cover. She also faced a no-ball but managed to score a few runs off subsequent deliveries. Shafali Verma joined in, scoring a boundary off a full toss and consistently finding gaps to rotate strike.
Jahanara Alam had a challenging start, with Mandhana hitting a six and several boundaries, including a well-timed pull shot. Jahanara's length varied, leading to some easy runs for Mandhana and Shafali. Nahida Akter and Rabeya Khan continued the bowling effort, with Nahida dismissing Shafali with a well-directed delivery and Rabeya getting some key dot balls and managing to keep the scoring under control towards the end.
Overall, Mandhana and Shafali managed to score freely despite occasional tight bowling, setting a solid foundation for their team. And the score after 6 overs was 46-0.
Middle Overs
In the final overs of the match, India were really good at chasing the target. with decisive batting performances. Nahida Akter bowled the over, and Mandhana hit a boundary, ensuring a big 10-wicket win that helped India reach the final match. Mandhana's innings were highlighted by a stylish half-century, including a deft boundary and a powerful slog sweep.
Shafali Verma contributed with well-timed strokes, including a boundary and a single off a misfielded delivery. Throughout the overs, both Mandhana and Verma displayed excellent technique, with Mandhana’s elegant drive-through extra cover and Verma’s strong pulls and cuts. The innings saw a mix of singles, boundaries, and a dropped catch, but India's solid batting ensured a commanding finish to the game and gets victory to it.
