Jai Shah Appoints Two Veterans as India's Captain and Vice-Captain for New Zealand Test Series
Rishabh Pant can be given the responsibility of Vice Captain for Test in Team India.
Recently, team India played their test series with Bangladesh in the format of Test Matches in which they won 2-0 matches, and now they need to play their next series in the test format in front of New Zealand from October 16.
Now the selection committee will be announcing the 15-member squad very soon. And along with that, there is also news that after the New Zealand Test Series, Jay Shah the BCCI Secretary might hand over all the responsibilities of vice-captaincy and Captaincy to these veterans.
Rohit Sharma has been serving as the captain for Team India in the Test format for the past 2 years. There are reports suggesting that he will continue to lead the team in Test cricket until the conclusion of the current World Test Championship cycle (WTC 2023-25).
It is expected that Rohit Sharma will be the captain of the Team India squad chosen for the New Zealand Test series.
Before the Test series against New Zealand begins, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah may appoint Rishabh Pant as the vice-captain for Team India in the new Test format. Rishabh Pant has not previously served as vice-captain for Team India in Test cricket, but there are now discussions about giving him this responsibility for the Test format.
