Jaiswal misses Ranji Trophy semi-final against Vidarbha because of an ankle injury

Jaiswal misses Ranji Trophy semi-final against Vidarbha because of an ankle injury

Yashasvi Jaiswal has played just one match this Ranji season, and he scored 4 and 26 runs against Jammu and Kashmir.

From the Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy Yashasvi Jaiswal has been ruled out due to his ankle injury. Now he won’t be able to play the semi-final against Vidarbha starting from 17 Feb in Nagpur.
Jaiswal was originally part of India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad but was replaced last minute by Varun Chakaravarthy. Initially listed as a non-travelling reserve, he's now set to return home.
Mumbai will not name a substitute for Jaiswal in the Ranji Trophy semi-final due to their strong lineup with Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Shardul Thakur. Among them, Dube is also on India's non-travelling reserve list for the Champions Trophy and will go to Dubai if needed.
Jaiswal, a regular in India's Test team, recently debuted in ODIs against England in Nagpur, stepping in for Virat Kohli who missed the game due to a knee injury. Jaiswal scored 15 runs in that match.
This season, Jaiswal has played only one Ranji Trophy game, against Jammu and Kashmir, scoring 4 and 26 in the two innings. Mumbai lost that match by five wickets.
Defending champions Mumbai have struggled in the Ranji Trophy this season. They barely made it to the quarter-finals and faced tough competition from Haryana, with the lower order rescuing them in the first innings.
The semi-final against Vidarbha is a rematch of last year's final. Vidarbha are in excellent form, winning seven out of eight games this Ranji season. They come into the semi-final after defeating Tamil Nadu by 198 runs in the quarter-final.
Mumbai squad:
Ayush Mhatre, Ajinkya Rahane (c), Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Suryakumar Yadav, Amogh Bhatkal, Siddhesh Lad, Akash Anand (wk), Shivam Dube, Hardik Tamore (wk), Shardul Thakur, Shams Mulani,  Suryansh Shedge,  Tanush Kotian, Sylvester D'Souza, Royston Dias, Mohit Avasthi, Atharva Ankolekar, Harsh Tanna
