Virat Kohli was clean bowled by Sangwan at 6 in the Ranji trophy comeback.
A special tribute to Wriddhiman Saha
Wriddhiman Saha was walking the last time or 210th time for the batting. And he is all ready to close his period of playing with this last Ranji match. He came in to bat when Bengal's score was 217/6, with a lead of 26 runs. Yesterday, he was honoured by Snehasish Ganguly, the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal.
Kohli's off-stump was sensationally knocked over
Kohli faced challenges from fast bowler Kunal Yadav, getting beaten outside off twice in his first 10 deliveries. The first ball swung away late from off-stump as Kohli attempted to work it through the on-side. The second was a rising short ball that he jabbed at and missed.
Kohli then asserted himself by smashing a ball back past Himanshu Sangwan for his first boundary off his 14th delivery. However, the excitement was short-lived. Sangwan's very next delivery jagged back in off length, beating Kohli on the inside edge as he attempted a drive, and flattened the off stump. Sangwan, elated, yelled in delight at the sight of Kohli's stumps being knocked over.
Tamil Nadu is facing a critical moment
The situation is getting tough for Tamil Nadu as Jharkhand's lead grows to 208 runs. On this pitch, 21 wickets fell on the first day, and another six have fallen so far on the second day. This lead is becoming increasingly dangerous for Tamil Nadu. The pitch continues to turn just like it did yesterday, making any target above 200 very challenging. Tamil Nadu needs at least a draw to reach the knockout stage, but that now seems like a difficult task.
Karnataka's chances are fading fast
After being bowled out for 304, Karnataka watched as the Haryana openers reached a half-century partnership by lunchtime. Karnataka needs to win with a bonus point, but their chances are slim since they can only get seven points if they win by an inning.
Another way they can advance with just a win is if Bihar holds off Kerala, but that's also looking unlikely. Bihar has fallen to 50 for 6 in response to Kerala's 351.
Tamil Nadu faces a difficult challenge on a turning pitch
Tamil Nadu faces a tough challenge on a tricky pitch. Jharkhand has set a target of 234 runs for them. Off-spinners Utkarsh and Aditya are in the spotlight again. Utkarsh took six wickets in Tamil Nadu's first innings and scored 35 runs in Jharkhand's second innings. Aditya also scored an important 35 runs. Both of them, who are crucial with the ball, will be expected to perform well as Jharkhand aims to defend their total.
