Matthews and Campbelle Secure Series Win for West Indies
The West Indies team started their chase well. The captain, Matthews, and Stafanie Taylor made 60 runs together in eight overs.
Hayley Matthews and Shemaine Campbelle played well and helped the West Indies win the final T20I match against Sri Lanka by six wickets in Hambantota. The West Indies team made a strong comeback after losing all three games in the previous ODI series and the first game of this T20I series. In the last game, they successfully chased a target of 141 runs, finishing with just one ball left.
The West Indies team started their chase well. The captain, Matthews, and Stafanie Taylor made 60 runs together in eight overs. Then Taylor got out when she tried to hit Kavisha Dilhari’s ball and was given out LBW.
Matthews and Shemaine Campbelle worked together to add fifty-one more runs. Near the end, Kawya Kavindi took two important wickets, including getting Matthews out when she had forty-nine runs. This made it tough for the West Indies team, but they scored the six runs needed in the last over to win the game. Campbelle stayed not out with forty-one runs from thirty balls.
In their game earlier today, Sri Lanka took the field to bat first. They were able to accumulate 141 runs before losing 7 of their key players. A leading player, Chamari Athapaththu, played a major part with 39 runs from 38 balls. Moreover, others who immensely contributed to their respective teams in acquiring such a score include, Harshitha Madavi and Kavisha Dilhari.
The Sri Lankan team in that match had scored 91 runs for a loss of only 2 wickets by the time of 14 th over. But their scoring ability became somewhat constricted in the second half of the game. Despite getting a highly decent total of 141, it was not enough for the team to claim a win in the game.

As a result, West Indies Women won the match by six wickets, showcasing a strong batting performance in their successful chase against Sri Lanka Women.
