MPL T20 Trophy Launched: Eight Teams Set to Compete in Muzaffarnagar Premier League
Muzaffarnagar Cricket Association launch a tournament, starts from 6th April 2025.
The Muzaffarnagar Premier League is also set to be launched today with the cooperation of the Muzaffarnagar Cricket Association. Players from eight MPL teams were chosen through a draw. During the launch event, team managers worked with players and coaches to create winning strategies for the matches.
The trophy and jersey for the MPL T-20 match were unveiled by Municipal Council President Meenakshi Swaroop, who was the chief guest, at a hotel on Circular Road. The officials from the Muzaffarnagar Cricket Association welcomed the sponsors of the eight teams during the event. Meenakshi Swaroop and the MCA officials presented the jerseys to the players from Muzaffarnagar and Shamli, along with the team sponsors and managers.
Meenakshi Swaroop mentioned that this is a great initiative to boost the enthusiasm of players from Muzaffarnagar and Shamli and that cricket is now a passion shared by everyone. She noted that this will help give a new identity to the Muzaffarnagar Cricket Association. Other attendees included BJP leader Gaurav Swaroop, MCA chairman Bhim Sen Kansal, Bhupendra Yadav, and sponsors like Pankaj Goyal, Narendra Goyal, Rakesh Bindal, Mayank Bindal, Ajit Mishra, Rohit Chaudhary, Amit Chaudhary, MG Public School principal Monika Garg, Rakesh Mishra, Rajesh Jain, Rajiv Jain, Sanjay Sharma, and others.
Manoj Pundir, the Secretary of the Muzaffarnagar Cricket Association, said that the eight teams were formed through a drawing process. The matches will begin on April 7 at Chaudhary Charan Singh Sports Stadium and will run until April 15. Players on the winning team will receive cash prizes, and the team itself will earn a trophy along with a cash prize of over one lakh. A total of 228 applications were received from Shamli and Muzaffarnagar for the match, with 120 players trying out. Out of those, 96 were chosen for the teams.
