Nair and Dubey helped Vidarbha reach the semi-finals, where they will face Mumbai

Vidarbha defeated Tamil Nadu by 198 runs and face Mumbai on 17th Feb in the 2nd semi final.

Harsh Dubey shone with both the bat and the ball, while Karun Nair continued his excellent performance from the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Vidarbha won by 198 runs against Tamil Nadu. Next up, they face Mumbai in the semi-finals at home in Nagpur, as they had the most points in the group stages.
Dubey, the top wicket-taker of the season with 55 wickets, added three more in the second innings, as Tamil Nadu were all out for 202 while chasing 401. Before his bowling, Dubey had already impressed with the bat, scoring two half-centuries and crossing 400 runs for the season.
Despite Dubey's efforts, Nair was named player of the match for his 122 runs on the first day. Nair, who scored 779 runs including five centuries in the 50-over competition, formed a crucial 98-run partnership with Danish Malewar, as Vidarbha recovered from 44 for 3. He then added 105 runs with Dubey, helping Vidarbha reach a total of 353 runs.
Tamil Nadu started poorly, falling to 38 for 4 due to a great opening spell by Aditya Thakare, who took five wickets. Andre Siddarth and Pradosh Ranjan Paul tried to recover the innings, scoring 65 and 48 respectively, but Tamil Nadu were all out for just 225.
Vidarbha's top order struggled in their second innings, but their 128-run lead helped. Yash Rathod scored an excellent 112, contributing significantly to their total of 272, with help from Dubey. The two added 120 runs for the sixth wicket.
Tamil Nadu had more than five sessions to chase the target but kept losing wickets quickly. They were at 45 for 5 at one point, with seamer Nachiket Bhute taking down their top order. Paul and Sonu Yadav scored fifties, but it only delayed the inevitable. B Sai Sudharsan, returning from surgery, scored just 7 and 2 in his two innings.
Vidarbha has now won seven out of eight games this season and will face defending champions Mumbai, who recently had an impressive win over Haryana in Kolkata.
