Punjab jumps to 7th position after the victory over CSK.

Punjab won the toss and skipper Sam Curran elected to bowl first against CSK. On Wednesday Chennai Super Kings faced a seven-wicket defeat in their home ground Punjab managed to chase the score of 162 runs within 17.5 overs.
Punjab Kings won the match by 7 wickets and have gone up to the 7 position in the leaderboard however even after the loss Chennai's place in the leaderboard has not gone to any big change CSK still lies on the 4th Spot.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane opened for the CSK in the match and even managed to secure good runs for the team. This right-handed batting pair gave a nice start in the powerplay as they both scored 55 runs in the first 6 overs. But soon after Rahane lost the wicket to Harpreet Brar at 29 (24), the scoring rate dropped afterward. In-form Shivam Dube went at a duck in the next over and Ravindra Jadeja also lost the wicket very early he just scored 2 runs off 4 balls only on the ball of Liam Livingstone.
After 15 overs the CSK's score was around 100 run mark only as their scoring rate kept on falling because of the help of Captain Ruturaj as he was holding his position. Still, he was also caught out but because of him, CSK managed to set a target of 162 on the loss of 7 wickets as he scored 62 runs in 48 balls.
Punjab Kings opened with Prabhsimran Singh and Jonny Bairstow but Prabhsimran lost his wicket pretty soon in the match in 3rd over he got out on the ball of Richard Gleeson he gave a catch straight to CSK Captain Rururaj Gaikwad. The spell of two 40's worked for the team Johny Bairstow scored 46 runs in 30 balls and RIlee Rossouw also scored 43 runs in 23 balls. These players 40's surpassed the 62 runs of skipper Ruturaj. After their wickets, Shashank and Captain Sam Curran held their position and led the team to victory. Shashank made 25 runs in 26 balls and Sam scored 26 runs in 20 balls they both remain unbeaten.
