Rashid Khan from Afghanistan Announces Break from Test Cricket

According to the team management, he suffered the injury last month. He last played Test cricket in March 2021.

All-rounder Rashid Khan from Afghanistan cricket has decided to take a break from test cricket from the game’s longest format. He has a lower back injury that has been troubling him for a long which is why he is taking a one-year break from test cricket as announced by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). 
This means that Rashid Khan is not gonna play Afghanistan’s one-off Test against New Zealand, which tends to start on September 9 in Greater Noida India. Rashid Khan has participated in five Test matches and taken 34 wickets with an average of 22.35. His top performance was picking up 11 wickets for 275 runs against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi in March 2021, which was his most recent Test match.
Well, this is not a big surprise for us if he not gonna join as he has also already skipped Afghanistan’s ODI series against Sri Lanka and Ireland that was played in February and March. While participating in the men's Hundred tournament for Trent Rockets, the 25-year-old also suffered a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, after a week Rashid Khan decided to play in the Shpageeza T20 League, where he was the captain of Speen Ghar Tigers and was able to play three matches, get three wickets as well as crack 53 runs out of 26 balls in the last match of the league. 
In the T20 World Cup, Rashid Khan plays an important role and they also get into the first semi-final. Not only that he is also able to pick 14 wickets. 
The Afghanistan cricket team arrived in Greater Noida on Wednesday for a one-week training camp ahead of their Test match against New Zealand. Following the Test, they will travel to the UAE to play a three-match ODI series against South Africa at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
