Report: Pakistan and India will play the Champions Trophy 2025 match in Lahore

Speculation reports surface that Team India will meet Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 in Lahore.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: A speculation Report in the media has surfaced regarding the Champions Trophy 2025 the match between India vs Pakistan, which is likely to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The Reports came after India won over Pakistan by 6 runs in the current ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in New York on Sunday, June 9^th. According to the popular media group report, the most tempered match between the arch-rivals will take place just eight months from now in the marquee tournament which is planned to be played in Pakistan.

Regarding all the speculations of the Champions Trophy 2025 taking place in Pakistan, however, it is not finalized that Team India will travel to the country to participate and take part as the major decision is in the hands of the Indian government.

The report also stated that the proposed schedule of seven nations participating in the 2025 Champions Trophy has been forwarded to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the India-Pakistan match will be the final in the League Stage of the eight-nation 15-match Championship which is expected to be held between February 19 and March 9. The Dates for the tournament will be figured out accordingly.

Thus, if the government of India decides to play against Pakistan, then the ICC and BCCI must arrange the tournament might be played in the Hybrid model. Even, despite all the possibilities, the Pakistan Cricket Board have been mentioned to go ahead with its preparations.

Earlier, a development stated that the Champions Trophy matches shall be staged in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi. PCB saw it fit to single out Lahore in the string of venues that would be used to stage India matches.

According to the proposed programme, the first match has been proposed to be held in Karachi on February 19 and the final is planned on March 09, Sunday at Lahore.

There have been no conversations from the PCB or ICC about a hybrid model With all said and done the future and the decision solely rest in the hands of BCCI and the government of India.

The last edition of the Champions Trophy was played in 2017 in which Pakistan defeated India in the final to become champion.
