Rohit, Jaiswal, and Iyer will miss Mumbai's crucial Ranji Trophy match that they must win

Rohit Sharma and Iyer will be part of team India in the England ODIs series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer the International players of the Indian cricket team is going to miss the upcoming round of the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai before the ODI series with England to be played next month. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul will take part in the next round starting on January 30. Meanwhile, the Mumbai players have already participated in the earlier round, which Kohli and Rahul missed. Iyer has also been active throughout most of the domestic season, including two white-ball tournaments. The ODI series against England begins on February 6 in Nagpur, just four days after the last Ranji Trophy round ends.
Rohit and Jaiswal, who also open the batting in Tests, played for Mumbai against Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) when they returned to domestic cricket after the BCCI's new rules required them to play in these matches. This decision came after India lost several series to New Zealand and Australia, which cost them a spot in the World Test Championship final. The team struggled with their batting, not being able to score enough runs. Rohit, in particular, has been underperforming, with only 164 runs in his last 15 Test innings, averaging a low 10.93 this season. His situation didn't improve while playing for Mumbai, as he scored only 3 and 28 runs against J&K.
Jaiswal scored low with 4 and 26 in recent games but had a good Test season with two half-centuries and a century in Australia, and four fifties at home.
Iyer has been the top scorer for Mumbai this Ranji season with 480 runs from seven innings and an average of 68.57, including two centuries. He also hit two unbeaten centuries in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and scored 345 runs with a strike rate of 188.52 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Mumbai will miss allrounder Shivam Dube who joined the India T20I squad after their game against J&K. For their final league game against Meghalaya, the squad sees the return of batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi and allrounders Atharva Ankolekar and Suryansh Shedge, who was the Player of the Match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final. Mumbai is likely to use the young opening pair of Raghuvanshi and 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre, who has scored four centuries and two half-centuries in 18 innings in his first domestic season.
As the defending champions, Mumbai is in a tough spot to qualify for the Ranji knockouts, currently third in Group A behind J&K and Baroda. Their match against Meghalaya is a must-win.
