RPL Riders Hold Nerve to Defeat Vasundhra Super Kings by 3 Wickets in a Last-Over Thriller
MPL-T20 2025: RPL Riders beat Vasundhra Super Kings by 3 wickets. Player of the Match: Aaradhya Yadav
In a nail-biting MPL clash, RPL Riders edged past Vasundhra Super Kings by 3 wickets, chasing down 143 with just 3 balls to spare. After winning the toss, Vasundhra Super Kings chose to bowl first, but RPL Riders’ calm batting in the final overs helped them cross the finish line in a tense contest. Both teams had moments, but RPL Riders kept cool when it mattered the most.
Vasundhra Super Kings Innings:
Batting first, Vasundhra Super Kings struggled to get a big partnership going. Shantanu (8 off 6) got off to a brisk start but was bowled early by Abdul Mazid. Vaibhav Tyagi looked promising with a steady 25 off 22 balls before being run out by a smart throw from Garvit Chaudhary.
Yuvraj Singh Tomar (4), Vishvendar Chaudhary (11), and Ayush Rathi (4) couldn’t stay long at the crease, and wickets kept falling at regular intervals. However, Vineet Kumar played a handy knock of 24 off 16 balls to bring some momentum back into the innings.
The real standout came from Amar Singh, who smashed a quickfire 41 off just 17 balls, hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes, giving the team a fighting total. With his late fireworks, Vasundhra Super Kings posted 142 runs in 20 overs, at a run rate of 7.1.
RPL Riders Innings:
Chasing 143, RPL Riders had a solid start. Vivek Saroha scored a handy 30 off 25 balls, and Garvit Chaudhary chipped in with 8 off just 5. Aaradhya Yadav played a key role in the middle overs, scoring a steady 33 from 32 deliveries before being run out due to a sharp effort from Amar Singh.
Nishant Thakur (19 off 14) added valuable runs, hitting 2 sixes in his short stay, while Muneeb Ahmad (15) and Digvijay Singh (5) tried to push the score along but fell to Amar Singh, who was impressive with the ball as well.
Towards the end, Ritik Rana (9) and Aadi (9 off 5 balls) stayed calm under pressure and took the team home in the final over. RPL Riders finished at 143/7 in 19.3 overs, winning the game with just 3 wickets in hand.
