Top Run Scorers and Wicket Takers for Indian Premier League, 2025
The IPL 2025 Orange Cap leaderboard has a new No. 1 and No. 3. Gujarat Titans (GT) dominated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, shaking up the rankings for top run-scorers and wicket-takers.
Orange Cap Standings
At the start of the season, Virat Kohli (RCB) led with 59* against KKR. Then, Ishan Kishan (SRH) took over with a stunning 106* against the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Nicholas Pooran (LSG) later claimed the top spot after scoring 70 against SRH in Match 7.
Pooran held onto the No. 1 position until Match 39, when Sai Sudharsan (GT) scored 52 off 36 balls, becoming the first batter to cross 400 runs this season. Pooran, now at No. 2, has 368 runs but struggled in his last two games, scoring just 8 and 11. He’ll aim to reclaim the top spot in LSG’s next match against Delhi Capitals (DC).
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler (GT) moved up to No. 3 with 345 runs, thanks to his 41 off 23 balls* against KKR. Shubman Gill (GT) also made a big jump, scoring 90 off 55 balls, bringing his total to 305 runs, placing him seventh.
Other batters in the 300+ club include Suryakumar Yadav (MI), Kohli (RCB), and Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR).
Purple Cap Standings
The race for the Purple Cap has been less dramatic. Prasidh Krishna (GT) remains No. 1 with 16 wickets, four more than his closest competitors.
GT’s R Sai Kishore and Mohammed Siraj each took a wicket, bringing their totals to 12 wickets, tying them with Kuldeep Yadav (DC), Noor Ahmad (CSK), Josh Hazlewood (RCB), and Shardul Thakur (LSG).
