The physio has kept him under observation for two days and when getting onto the ground we will get the physio’s feedback. We need to think carefully before choosing Shakib for the next match, and we have some time to decide. We’ll check his condition, he said.
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain said they didn’t use Shakib as a bowler because the other players were performing well. He also dismissed any concerns about Shakib’s injury. Hannan agreed and confirmed that Shakib didn’t have any finger injury before the first Test.
We know there’s talk about the pain in his hand. It wasn’t there before the match, and many have tried to explain it differently. But before the match, the physio gave him 100 per cent clearance. He was completely fit then, said Hannan.
You can’t call it an injury. The discomfort in his finger wasn’t there before the match. He only felt it when he started bowling, he said.
