In a high-energy MPL match, Vasundhra Super Kings won by 53 runs over MG Stars by 53 runs. Batting first, the Super Kings posted a challenging total of 163 runs, thanks to a brilliant knock from Shantanu, who was later named Player of the Match. Even by putting in some valiant efforts from MG Stars' batsmen, they could only manage 110 runs in their chase, falling short by 53 runs.
Vasundhra Super Kings Innings:
Vasundhra Super Kings made a strong start with Shantanu leading the charge. He played a stunning innings, scoring 90 runs off just 54 balls, including 10 fours and 4 sixes. His aggressive traditional play set a solid foundation for the team. However, his partners struggled to stay at the crease.
However, Vineet Kumar (0 off 3 balls) was dismissed cheaply, and Vaibhav Tyagi (4 off 7 balls) also couldn't get going. Yuvraj Singh Tomar (6 off 7 balls) and Vishvendar Chaudhary (6 off 5 balls) contributed small but important runs before being dismissed.
The middle-order had some resilience, with Ayush Rathi (0 off 2 balls) and Kovid Jain (9 off 13 balls) failing to make a big impact. However, Krishan Pal played a useful knock, finishing unbeaten on 26 off 17 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes.
Amar Singh also contributed with a score of 14 off 12 balls. The Super Kings finished their innings at 163 runs in 20 overs, scoring at an average rate of 8.2 runs per over.
MG Stars Innings:
Chasing 164 runs, MG Stars had a difficult start with early wickets falling. Ashmit Baliyan (9 off 19 balls) and Jitendra Malik (2 off 3 balls) couldn’t make significant contributions, falling to Shantanu and Amar Singh, respectively.
Naman played a promising knock of 36 runs off 34 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes, but he lacked support from the other end. Prince Panwar (6 off 7 balls) and Manish Yadav (18 off 21 balls) tried to get the innings back on track, but both were dismissed in quick succession.
The Super Kings' bowlers, especially Ayush Rathi (3 wickets) and Shantanu (3 wickets), applied constant pressure, and MG Stars couldn't recover. Kumar Gaurav (0 off 2 balls) and Aksh (8 off 10 balls) also failed to contribute.
In the lower order, Mohd Areeb (22 off 14 balls) gave a brief hope for a fightback, but with his dismissal, MG Stars were all out for 110 runs in 20 overs, with a run rate of just 5.5 runs per over.
