In an exciting local MPL tournament match, Silverton's Tigers secured a convincing win over RPL Riders by 7 wickets. The match was full of twists and turns, with both teams giving their best, but it was the Tigers who came out on top with a powerful performance.
RPL Riders Opt to Bat First
After winning the toss, RPL Riders decided to bat first. However, their innings didn’t start well, as their top order struggled against the tight bowling of Silverton's Tigers. Vivek Kumar and Nishant Thakur were the only two batters who put up a fight, scoring 25 and 27 runs respectively. Gaurav Tomar was the star with the ball, taking 4 wickets and causing major damage to the Riders’ batting line-up.
Despite a few small partnerships, RPL Riders could only manage to score 93 runs in 19.1 overs, with a run rate of just 4.9.
Silverton's Tigers Chase with Confidence
Silverton's Tigers also had a rough start, losing both openers, Aditya Sharma and Gaurav Tomar, for zero. But Harshit Rathi played a captain’s knock, holding the innings together with a brilliant 63 runs off 43 balls, hitting 11 fours and a six. His powerful performance made the chase look easy.
With support from Prashant Surya and Yash Garg, the Tigers comfortably reached the target in just 13 overs, finishing at 95/3 and winning the match with 7 wickets in hand.
