In an exciting evening clash at the Late Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna T20 tournament, Sound Image put up a solid all-round performance to defend their first-innings total and clinch a 15-run win over Dhruv Cricket Academy. With a steady performance from Abhishek Yadav, along with strong bowling from Munindra K Maurya and Shivam Yadav, Sound Image get the victory effortlessly.
Sound Image Innings
In the first innings of the evening match between Sound Image and Dhruv Cricket Academy, Sound Image put up a fighting total of 150 runs in 20 overs. The innings began with a quick boundary from Faiz Ahmed, but his stay at the crease was short as he was dismissed early, scoring just 5 runs. Shubham Pandey tried to steady things but couldn’t find his rhythm, managing 10 runs off 18 balls before a run-out ended his innings. The standout performer of the innings was undoubtedly Abhishek Yadav, who played a brilliant knock under pressure. He remained not out on 60 runs off 48 balls, hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes, and was the backbone of the batting lineup.
Wickets kept falling around Abhishek, with Almas Shaukat scoring 11 runs and Sachin Singh contributing just 5 before getting stumped. However, the middle order did show some intent. Samst Mitra Shastri added a quick 15 off 10 balls, including a six, while Akash Singh gave a small but sharp boost with 16 off just 9 deliveries. Munindra K Maurya chipped in with 12 runs before getting out in the final over. The lower order didn’t have much to do, but Rahmat Ali remained not out as the innings came to a close.
On the bowling front for Dhruv Cricket Academy, Rajdeep Singh and Utkarsh Pal were the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets each. Niranjan Singh and Ansh Yadav picked up a wicket apiece, while others kept things tight in patches. Sound Image’s batting may not have been explosive, but thanks to Abhishek Yadav’s solid innings and some helpful cameos, they managed to reach a respectable total of 150. Now, it’s up to their bowlers to defend it against a determined Dhruv side.

Chasing 151, Dhruv Cricket Academy had a bad start as they lost Anshul Kumar Yadav and Rajdeep Singh in quick succession. With just 13 runs, Shivam Yadav struck early, picking up two important wickets. The top players didn’t perform well at the start, and it was only when Nikhil Gupta came in that the game got more exciting. Nikhil scored a determined 48 runs from 34 balls, including 4 fours and a six, which helped keep the chase on track.
However, the middle order collapsed under pressure. Puskar Singh, Ansh Yadav, and Mohammad Danish couldn’t build substantial partnerships. Though Danish contributed a quick 23, wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals. Munindra K Maurya was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with 3 wickets for 21 runs, while Almas Shaukat also made a crucial impact, taking 2 wickets in the death overs.
Despite some late hitting from the lower order, Dhruv Cricket Academy couldn’t keep up with the required run rate and ended their innings at 135 for 9, falling short by 15 runs.
