T20 World Cup 2024: Arshdeep and Suryakumar lead India to the Super 8 stage
India won yesterday's match against the USA and after winning the game India qualified for the Super 8.
India competed against the United States of America in T20 WC 2024. India won by hitting the ball well and working together. For India, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya bowled well, and they made it tough for the USA team to gain points. After that, while India was batting, the USA team tried to cease them, however, Suryakumar and Shivam Dube played well and helped India to attain victory.
“India Wins: Nail – Biting end with crucial Points!”
Both India and the USA found it tough to score runs during the whole game. India was trying to catch up with the USA’s score. In the end, India needed 35 runs to win in the last five rounds. But before the beginning of the 16th round, India got five extra runs because the USA took too long between the rounds. This made it easier to win. The USA captain, Aaron Jones, thought that they were short of 10 – 15 runs, and the extra penalty made it even harder for them.
United States of America:
Initial Overs: 18/2 [RR: 3.00, 4s/6s: 0/1]
At the beginning of the game, the USA cricket team faced some difficulties. They lost two players early on. Arshdeep, a player from the opposing team, got one player out with the first ball of the game by hitting the stumps. Then, he got another player out by making him catch the ball. Another player, Mohammed Siraj, also made it hard for the USA team to hit the ball with his tricky throws. However, the USA team managed to hit a ball past the boundary for a score. Despite this, they didn't score many runs. Their score during the first part of the game was one of the lowest in T20 cricket history.
Middle Overs: 63/3 [RR: 7.00, 4s/6s: 2/4]
During the game, Jones tried hard to score against Pandya but ended up hitting the ball in the wrong way and got out. The USA team scored their first four points when Nitish Kumar accidentally hit the ball and Steven Taylor hit a great shot for six points. Taylor and Nitish worked together and scored 31 points, including a big hit for six points by Taylor. But then, Nitish got out because he hit the ball into the wicket. Nitish was playing well, even though he wasn't hitting boundaries until he tried to score big against Pandya. Corey Anderson hit a big shot in the 14th round and got six points. Arshdeep stopped Nitish from playing by getting him out, and Siraj made a great catch to help.
Death Overs: 29/3 [RR: 5.80, 4s/6s: 2/1]
Anderson hit the ball and scored four points. Harmeet also scored big by getting six points and three points. India tried to get Harmeet out but couldn’t, and Pandya got Anderson out. Harmeet got lucky when he wasn’t caught, but then he got out. Bumrah and Siraj bowled well but couldn’t get any wickets at the end.
India:
Initial Overs: 33/2 [RR: 5.50, 4s/6s: 1/2]
Virat Kohli was unable to score any runs as he got out on the first ball he faced. Rishabh Pant hit the first four runs by hitting the ball hard. Then, Rohit Sharma also got out, and Suryakumar Yadav hurt his hand while batting. Suryakumar and Pant hit some big shots later on, but India didn’t score many runs in the first part of the game because the USA team bowled well.
Middle Overs: 43/3 [RR: 4.77, 4s/6s: 2/1]
India was playing well, but then something bad happened. Pant got out because the ball was too low. After that, India didn't score many runs in four overs. Dube had a hard time hitting the ball well. By halftime, India had only 47 runs, just a little more than the USA team. The USA bowlers were very good, so it was hard for India to score points. They couldn't hit many boundaries for 32 turns. Then, finally, Dube hit the ball and got four runs. Another player, Suryakumar, almost got out, but he got lucky because the other team dropped the ball. Then, in the next over, Suryakumar hit the ball for four runs. Dube also hit a big shot for six runs.
Death Overs: 35/0 [RR: 10.51, 4s/6s: 1/1]
Before the 16th over began, India got extra points because of a rule violation by the other team. After that, the USA's performance got worse. With only four overs left, India needed to score one point for each ball. Suryakumar hit a big shot and then another good shot, making it easier for India. When there were only 12 balls left, India needed only 4 points to win. Suryakumar got 50 points in 49 balls, and then Dube scored the winning points with a strong shot. This win was India's third in a row, and it was also the biggest win at this place.
