Australian players becoming the hot topic of notice from the last week in the IPL 2024
The Indian Premier League 2024 tournament is on its way to the mid-point now, but Australian players becoming the hot topic of notice from the last week.
Despite early struggles, Starc finally shines
Mitchell Strac, a former test cricketer, finally started to shine after the costly start in the IPL 2024 season, he scored 3 wickets for 28 runs in the Kolkata Knight Riders' win over Lucknow Super Giants, Sunday afternoon in Kolkata. Starc has not played any single T20 game yet since the 2022 T20 World Cup when Australia’s selectors dropped him for the final match. Starc showcased his skills against Lucknow Super Giants, which includes three in the powerplay and one last in the death overs of the innings. He spells 12 dots in 18 deliveries in the powerplay and took wickets of LSG batting star, Deepak Hooda. Mitchell Starc added in his post-match speech that he is starting to get back into the tactical groove of T20 bowling.
Australia’s other multi-format started founding form in the T20 groove is Pat Cummins. He is delivering phenomenal figures from last week with 1 for 22 from four overs in Sunrises Hyderabad's tight win over Punjab Kings. Starc and Cummin’s form augur Australia ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Marsh returns home amid injury concerns
Mitchell Marsh has returned to the home City of Perth after suffering from a partial hamstring tear at the Indian Premier League 2024. And, it is still unclear if he will return to the Tournament before the T20 World Cup. He was unable to participate in the last matches played by Delhi Capital after the scans of his injury over a week ago. Marsh will rehabilitate his injury with the Australian’s Physico Nick Jones based out in Perth. Delhi Capitals, team member David Warner also got injured and hit on his finger while trying to play the short over fine leg, on Friday vs LSG. He underwent the scans while landing in Ahmedabad.

Fraser-McGurk rocks in IPL debut
Australian youngster Jake Fraser-McGurk Showcased the stunning innings for Delhi Capitals while on his IPL 2024 debut match. The Significant innings featured the six sixes. This Australian 22-year-old younger has already been counted as a controversial replacement for Lungi Ngidi due to Delhi’s’ bowling issues. However, Fraser repaid Ricky Ponting’s faith with his amazing inning performance. He showed his ability to hit spin and space, by hitting six on his second ball and later on another three balls. Despite this, Fraser-McGurk is still far down from pecking Australian top-order options for the World Cup. But, he continues to perform well in the IPL and the Australia team might have any player with injury concerns closer to the tournament, he can be considered as power power-hitting option for the top batting order.
