Travis Head wins his first Allan Border Medal
Star batter Travis Head named the winner of the Allan Border Medal for the top Australian men's cricketer. Head also won the Men’s ODI Player of the Year Award.
The Maiden Allan Border medal at the 2025 Australian Cricket Awards goes to the excellent player Travis Head. For this award, Head collected a total of 208 votes which wazs 61 more than Pat Cummins and 50 from Josh Hazelwood.
He has a great 2024 year as he gets success in all three formats. Along with that, he has managed to get 1427 runs which also includes four centuries. He surpassed wicketkeeper Alex Carey to win the Men's ODI Player of the Year award.
Hazlewood took 30 Test wickets at an average of 13.17 and won the Shane Warne Test Player of the Year award, while Adam Zampa was named the Men's T20I Player of the Year.
Whereas, in the women's format, Annabel Sutherland won her first Belinda Clark Award. She had a fantastic week, scoring a century in the one-off Ashes Test against England. She also scored 210 runs against South Africa in the Test match at the end of last season. Throughout the year, across all formats, she scored 798 runs at an average of 46.94 and took 34 wickets.
Sutherland won the award over Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney. Gardner was named Women's ODI Player of the Year with 385 runs and 23 wickets during the voting period, while Mooney was named T20I Player of the Year with 618 runs in T20Is at an average of 47.53 and a strike rate of 129.83.
Additionally, allrounders Glenn Maxwell and Cooper Connolly were joint-winners of the BBL Player of the Tournament award, while Ellyse Perry and Jess Jonassen were joint-winners of the WBBL Player of the Tournament award.
