Vidarbha has confirmed their place in the Vijay Hazare Trophy final by obtaining a 69-run victory against Maharashtra.
Vidharbha started by batting in the tournament, as they could win all seven matches. The opener batter did well and without any hesitation he gave 12 runs in the very start of the over.
Openers Yash Rathod made 116 runs and Dhruv Shorey made 114 runs and together they made a total of 238 runs and made a solid platform. The formers got out first by which Maharashtra got relaxed.
After that, Kunal Nair and Jitesh Sharma came into the crease and after taking some time Kunal Made 88 runs meanwhile Jitesh made 51 runs and took control. Vidarbha's batters were rewarded for playing attacking shots on a pitch that supported strokeplay. They scored 97 runs in the last six overs, boosting their total to 380. Nair hammered 24 runs in the final over, hitting two sixes and three fours off Rajneesh Gurbani. Siddhesh Veer was the only bowler to maintain an economy rate below six runs per over.
In response, Maharashtra never truly posed a threat in the chase. They lost captain Ruturaj Gaikwad early for just seven, and the decision to promote Rahul Tripathi didn’t pay off, even though he scored a quick 27.
Arshin Kulkarni made 90, but his slow pace—scoring less than a run per ball—didn't help the team’s cause. Ankit Bawne added 50 as the two batters put together a 96-run partnership, but it took them 14 overs to do so. Nikhil Naik later played a brief innings of 49 off 26 balls, which only helped Maharashtra cross the 300-run mark.
