West Indies Celebrates Historic 120-Run Win in Pakistan After 34 Years.
Jomel Warrican led a strong performance on Day 3 of the second Test in Multan, taking five wickets and helping the West Indies achieve a historic 120-run victory. This win allowed them to level the two-match series at 1-1. Warrican took four of the six wickets that fell on Monday, as Pakistan crumbled from 76/4 to 133 all out in just over an hour. This marked the West Indies' first win in Pakistan in 34 years.
Pakistan needed 178 runs to win the series, while the West Indies started the day needing just six wickets for a chance at history. Kevin Sinclair made an impact quickly, getting Saud Shakeel to edge a catch to first slip after just three balls. Pakistan lost their second wicket without scoring any runs when Warrican bowled out nightwatchman Kashif Ali with his second ball of the day.
The two new batsmen, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha, tried to play aggressively for a short time to put pressure back on the West Indies spinners. Their partnership of 39 runs ended when Warrican got Salman out LBW in an over where he had just barely avoided being stumped. Not long after, Rizwan was bowled out, and it seemed like West Indies would close in on victory.
Noman Ali hit a six off Gudakesh Motie to begin his scoring but then got caught by Warrican at mid-off on the next ball. In the following over, Sajid Khan edged the ball onto his stumps, giving Warrican five wickets and leading West Indies to a long-awaited win.
