World Test Championship Final at Lord’s from June 11-15
India is runner-up from the previous two editions.
World Championship finals are decided to be held between June 11 to 15 2025 in Lord’s London which is announced by the International Cricket Council. There will be a reserve day on June 16 if required.
This will be the third edition of the WTC Finals which is going to be held in England. The first edition was in 2021 held in Southampton was against New Zealand and India and the other one was in The Oval, London in 2023 in which India was beaten by Australia.
In the WTC standing India is the top two teams at the end of a two-year cycle of Test cricket and will compete in the final match. going to be placed on the first number meanwhile, Australia is going to be the close second.
Pat Cummins, the captain of defending champions Australia, said that winning the World Test Championship was a major goal for the team and still is. He mentioned that it represents the hard work and consistency of all teams over the two-year cycle. Cummins hopes they will be in the final again, noting that there is still a lot of cricket to be played before then, and fans will have the chance to see them defend their title.
Guy Lavender, the Chief Executive and Secretary of the Marleybone Cricket Club (MCC), said that this will be the first time Lord’s hosts the big game. He mentioned that Test match days at Lord’s are special, and having the two best men’s teams in the world compete at the Home of Cricket will be an unforgettable experience.
