Zimbabwe includes three newcomers in ODI squad for Pakistan series
Sikandar Raza will continue to lead the Team for the T20I series against Pakistan.
The three uncapped players who have been picked up by Zimbabwe are Tashinga Musekiwa, Tinotenda Maposa, and Trevor Gwandu, who are going to be against Pakistan in the upcoming three matches of the ODI in Zimbabwe.
Maposa the Quick bowler who is also 21 years old has been uncapped for International cricket while Gwandu and Musekiwa have played in T201 cricket. Maposa has only played List A matches and picked up four wickets on an economy rate of 6.29. Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava will keep leading the fast bowling in both ODIs and T20Is.
For Zimbabwe, the series that is going to be played against Pakistan is really important and that is why they have selected an all-round squad said " David Mutendera, who is Zimbabwe's convener of selectors. He also added that Experienced players like Craig Ervine, Sikandar Raza, and Sean Williams add stability, while young talents like Clive Madande, Brian Bennett, Dion Myers, and the three newcomers bring energy and the chance to make a big impact.
In this year's start, Sean Williams missed the white-ball series in Sri Lanka due to some injury, has been returning for the ODI but is still not able to play the T20I. For the T20I side, ODI captain Craig Ervine has also been omitted. Sean has played his last ODI in July 2023.
Zimbabwe kept the same T20I squad that won the men's T20 World Cup 2026 sub-regional qualifier in Kenya last month, where they set a record for the highest T20I total.
"We believed it was important to stick with the same squad that performed so well in Kenya," Mutendera said. "This consistency helps the team build on the unity and confidence behind their success."
The series is going to begin on November 24 and will last till December 5 and Bulawayo is gonna host all the games including Three T20Is and three ODIs.
